Tech, agri and banking experts discuss intelligent farming
Varanasi, India: A three-day workshop on 'Utilizing AI and IoT to Transform Indian Agriculture' finished on Wednesday evening. The session brought together experts from the sectors of technology, agriculture, and banking to examine the idea of intelligent farming.
More than seventy professionals from IIT (BHU) participated in the program, which was organized in partnership with the I-3 Foundation, Joint Incubation Center, and RKVY-RAFTAAR Agribusiness Incubator.
Dr. Shyam Kamal of IIT-BHU gave the opening presentation for the session on February 26. While Prof. Rakesh Singh of the Agricultural Science Institute focused on the structural revolution of Indian agriculture and commercial potential, he talked about the idea of intelligent farming. Prof. Rajneesh Tyagi, director of the I-3 Foundation, also spoke. Senior representative Amit Kumar of Union Bank of India spoke agricultural finance on the second day, emphasizing how simple it is to get bank funding for new agricultural ventures.
Dr. Abhishek Singh gave the attendees an overview of the RKVY-RAFTAAR project and explained how agricultural start-ups might apply for government support. Participants heard from Dr. Mayank Swarnkar of IIT-BHU, who covered the fundamentals of smart agriculture and cyber security. By the conclusion of the second day, IIT (BHU) computer engineering students completed practical exercises using a variety of sensors and devices.
On the last day, Prof. Guru Prasad Singh talked on agro-entrepreneurship, Dr. Om Jee Pandey presented on RIS-Assisted IoT networks using machine learning framework, P Ranjan spoke on AI in veterinary science, and Dr. OP Singh lectured on the effects of cow manure and fertilizers on human health.
