Centre allocates 6,000 crore for quantum mission
Visakhapatnam: According to Prof. Achanta Venugopal, director of the National Physical Laboratory (NPL-New Delhi), the Union government has allotted 6,000 crore to the National Quantum Mission Fund, which would support and expand scientific and industry research and development (R&D) advancements in quantum technology. He was the main guest at a gathering of young scientists put on by the Vizag branch of the Indian Physics Association.
To position India as a pioneer in the advancement and use of quantum technology, the government is making significant investments in the field.
Money is being given to start-ups and research projects in fields including semiconductors, quantum computing, 6G, and renewable energy, he continued.
Prof. Arun K. Pati, director of the Quantum Ecosystems Technology Council of India, discussed the no-deletion theorem, the no-hidden-variable theorem, and the foundations of quantum computing. The dean of GITAM School of Science, Prof. KS Sri Krishna, emphasized the significance of the role that the younger generation may play in determining the destiny of the nation.
